Recipes for homemade elderberry juice
Kitl Syrob Elderflower is made from hand-picked elderflowers that we macerate cold, based on traditional recipes. We have prepared some tips for you to make traditional elderflower juice yourself at home.

Elderflower syrup cold

Boil 4 litres of Water and leave to cool. Put 40 large elderflowers in the Water (do not pick after rain and remove the stems - they are bitter). Add a sliced and washed organic Lemon without pips and 10 dkg of Citric Acid. Leave to infuse for 24 hours. Then strain and stir to dissolve the sugar. Pour into dry, clean bottles and store in the fridge.

Elderflower syrup (elderflower juice)20 elderflowers

  • 1,5 kg sugar
  • 1,5 l of Water

Pour boiling Water over the elderflowers, add sugar, cover the container and put it in a cool place. Stir occasionally. After three days, strain, pour into bottles. After diluting with Water, obtain a medicinal drink for colds.

Black elderberry juice (from elder flowers)

  • 75 dkg crystal sugar
  • 5 dl hot Water
  • 4 large fresh elderflowers
  • 2 tbsp wine vinegar
  • 4 litres of Water

Dissolve the sugar in the hot Water and pour into the demijohn. Add the other ingredients, stir, seal and leave to mature for five days. Strain and serve chilled.

Elderflower syrup (elderflower syrup)

  • 20 elderflowers
  • 2,5 l boiled Water
  • 3 kg sugar
  • tablespoon vinegar

Pour boiled Water over the washed flowers, add vinegar and leave to stand for a day. Then strain, add sugar, boil and pour hot into bottles.

Elderflower juice cold

Soak the flowers for 24 hours with Citric Acid, then drain. To do this, dissolve 4 kg of sugar and squeeze out ten Lemons.

Elderflower syrup
Wash the 30 blossoms under running Water. Then boil ¾ l of Water with the flowers in a pot until the Water is half boiled. Then set everything aside to cool and leave to infuse for 24 hours. The next day, strain the juice, add ¾ kg of sugar, the juice of one Lemon and boil until the syrup starts to run. Pour the cooled syrup into bottles and seal well. Elderflower syrup is added to tea for coughs and for sweating. Sometimes it is spread on bread.

Elderflower Lemonade
Boil 5 litres of Water, put in about ½ kg of sugar, but it can be 1 kg, 3-4 Lemons cut into rounds and 15 rounds of flowering elderberries. If you add a little crumbled yeast, the ripening process will go faster. Then put a cork in the bottle and put it in the shade. In a few days the sugar solution will turn into a delicious drink.

KITL SYROB - FOR HEALTHY HOMEMADE LemonADE

Kitl Syrob are delicious thick syrups made according to traditional homemade recipes. They have a delicious taste and are ideal for making homemade Lemonades, hot drinks and for flavouring cocktails or various other drinks. The syrups are made from fresh Herbs in organic quality. The plants are cold processed, which makes the syrups rich in health-giving substances, aromatic and flavourful.

Why is the syrup called Syrob?
We wanted to make elderberry syrup as it has been made in households for centuries and as many people still make it today. We went to the Turnov museum to see the director, Vladimíra Jakouběová, an ethnographer and writer, to see if she had an old recipe for us in the archives. She did - it was called "Syrob z černobejlí". As the name for elderberry probably makes clear, the recipe comes from the Podkrkonoší region and our Syrob could not be called anything else.

Why buy Syrob?
The best syrup in the world is the one you make yourself at home.

However, it's quite laborious and tedious, you'll get your whole kitchen dirty and use a lot of electricity. The plants are only available during part of the year. Finally, you won't always get the syrup right, sometimes it gets cloudy in the cellar, or - if not - the bottle will ferment and explode.

So, for those who don't have the time or energy to make syrups at home, we offer the second best syrups in the world. Year round and of consistently superior quality.

Recycle Kitl bottles. Just throw them as they are in the coloured glass container. The glassworks says there's really no need to remove the paper label or the cap. They can handle the packaging without any trouble.
